Mission Statement
REACT is comprised of volunteers who are organized internationally and
use Citizens Band (CB) radios to provide public service communications for
travelers and their local communities. REACT Teams use their radios to
monitor General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS) Band Radio Emergency
Channel (462.675) in the interest of safety.
REACT Teams also provide voluntary communications in response to
emergencies and for Community events. We utilize UHF, VHF,Amateur,
and other radio services. Because of our efforts, REACT is a recipient
of the President's Volunteer Action Award.
Our member teams in their local communities, work public service events
and an untold number of small local emergencies ranging from single
family house fires, multi-unit apartment fires, brush fires, chemical spills,
train derailments, to assisting during shelter operations by the Red Cross,
Salvation Army or other agencies during floods, and of course our
relentless monitoring of General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS) Band
Radio Emergency Channel (462.675)
REACT Teams use UHF radios called General Mobile Radio Service
(GMRS) and have access to local GMRS Repeaters, generally on the
462.675 MHz frequency. Some teams have more than one repeater,
and may be on different and / or additional frequencies.
